Biography

Dr. Bart Scheenstra is a Cardiologist specializing in cardiac rehabilitation. He earned his PhD in cardiac prehabilitation, with a focus on its effects in the DCC Trial, which was published in JACC in 2024. His current research is centered on the scientific evaluation of cardiac prehabilitation and its practical implementation into routine clinical care, with the aim of optimizing patient outcomes before major cardiac surgery such as CABG.
