Dieuwertje Kok is Associate Professor Nutrition and Cancer at the Division of Human Nutrition and Health at Wageningen University & Research. After a training in Medical Biology at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, she obtained her PhD from Wageningen University. She has 20 years of experience with research within the field of nutrition and cancer. Her research interests and expertise relate to nutrition in relation to cancer treatment, with a particular focus on treatment-related side-effects in patients with colorectal cancer or paediatric cancer. Dr. Kok is an active member of various national and international expert groups, including the lifestyle team of the Dutch Colorectal Cancer Group (DCCG), the multinational association for supportive care in cancer (MASCC), and the Expert Committee on Cancer Mechanisms of the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF). She is principal investigator for various observational and nutritional intervention studies focussing on treatment-related outcomes in patients with cancer.
