Dr. Gerrit Slooter

Biography

Gerrit Slooter and his team initiated the “ 1st Prehabilitation World Conference” in Eindhoven in 2018. Together with the PREHAB consortium he conducted the largest international RCT on prehabilitation in colorectal cancer thusfar. The research groups from Máxima MC and Maastricht University continue to add evidence of the positive effects of prehabilitation on outcomes and health care costs. Gerrit is initiator of the International Prehabilitation Society and co-president of i-POETTS. In the Netherlands he is board member of the “Fit4Surgery foundation” and the national “Work Group for Prehabilitation”. His own prehabilitation consists of cycling and golf.
